Fried Tofu with Tamarind Sauce - Episode 136

Fried Tofu with Tamarind Sauce

Fried Tofu with Tamarind Sauce makes a great appetizer. But it can also be a great stand alone meal. My love for tofu started when I was young, and it hasn't gone away since. Fried Tofu is one of the best ways to eat it and adding a nice Tamarind Sauce to dip it in really adds some depth to an otherwise fairly plain ingredient.

The amount of red chili powder that you want to add in this recipe is entirely dependent on your level of heat tolerance. I like spicy, and I am Thai, so normal spicy for my might really be "extra spicy" for you. That said, the heat of the red chili powder does get reduced a little by the sweetness of the tamarind. This simple, yet delicious recipe is vegetarian and vegan friendly. All of the ingredients are easy to find every-day items. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
