Today is my last full day in Thailand and I wanted to show you the sea salt farms in my home town. Ocean water is let in through a series of waterways and aqueducts. The sea water settles into shallow beds and as the sun evaporates the water, sea salt is left behind. The salt is raked into piles until it is dry, at which time it is moved into warehouses. The salt is cleaned, bagged, and sold.
Stay tuned for my next episode, I brought 40+ bags back with me and I plan on giving them all away for free. Try getting 40+ little bags of white powdery substance through customs, it wasn't easy, so I hope you get a bag and enjoy it.
