Egg Tofu with Minced Pork is a delicious dish. This Egg Tofu with Minced Pork recipe uses the egg tofu from episode 23, which was made with soy milk from episode 18. You should check out both episodes if you want to see the roots of this recipe. The ingredient list for this recipe is pretty straight forward. Most of the ingredients can be found at your local grocery store, but you may have to go to an Asian grocery store to fine oyster sauce.
First cut all of your vegetables into bite sized pieces. Dice your mushrooms, carrots, corn, celery, green onions, and white onions. Not pictured here, you will also dice your garlic and ginger.
Next heat your cooking oil and drop in your egg tofu. Fry the egg tofu until they are golden brown on each side. You want them to be crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Once they are done, remove them from your wok or cooking pan and set them aside for now.
Drain the cooking oil from your pan and start cooking the ginger and garlic. Once the ginger and garlic start releasing their oils, you will smell their great scents. At this time, you can add your ground pork.
Start adding your vegetables now. Add the carrots first since they take the longest to cook. After about 30-seconds add corn, and after another 30-seconds add the celery, onions, and mushrooms. Stir everything together well.
As your vegetates are cooking, add your seasoning sauce, oyster sauce, and soy sauce. Stir everything together again.
Next add a little white pepper, and pour in your broth. Once your mixture starts boiling, slowly add in a little corn starch to thicken up your sauce. Stir well, and don't forget to taste your food.
Plate your Egg Tofu and Minced Pork. You can serve with brown rice or white rice.
Cooking Notes: The easiest things to substitute for this dish is the vegetables. You can replace almost any of them with your favorite alternatives.
